For this piece, I chose to create a portrait of one of my favorite singers, Billie Eilish. I think I did a nice job at using different values of the skin tone to achieve the shadows shown on the face and neck. I also used value in this piece by making the background a darker blue on the outer areas of the paper and fading into a lighter shade closer to the subject. I also really like how i incorporated texture into the hair, making it shiny in some areas and being able to see the different shades and strings of hair. I used contrast in the piece by making the background a type of blue so it contrasts with the yellow in the shirt making it pop out more. The necklace helps create balance on both sides of the neck. If I could change one thing it would be the lips and I would make them closer to the nose and a little smaller. Overall, I am very proud of this piece.
