For this piece, I focused on the positioning of the objects and the colors in them. I used color in this painting by changing the notebook to an orange to match the orange tips on the plant. I also used color by making the table and background color the complementary of orange so it makes it pop out more. I really like the way I did the plant and the details in it. I made smaller lines of different shades of green, dull and light, to create texture on the stems. I also really like the value I did in the notebook and the gradation of the orange. Once thing I do not like and wish I could change is are the spirals in the notebook. I feel like they look good at the top but towards the bottom they lose the same shape and get a little sloppy. Other than that, I am overall pleased with how this piece turned out.
