Watercolor- Demo Excerise
For this piece, we were given a photo of a house and were told to recreate that picture using watercolors. I really enjoyed being able to follow along step by step and I was able to focus on different aspects of the painting. I really like how I made the trees look realistic by adding different textures and colors for the leaves. I also think I did a nice job getting the form of the house to look 3-dimensional with the use of the darker, duller colors to make certain parts of the house look pushed back and 3D. Pattern is used in this painting on the walls of the house. Creating the same lines over and over again. Balance is also being used in this piece in the sky. There are trees on both sides evening it out. If I could change the painting in anyway, I would go back and work on the line of the house. I would make the lines thinner, straighter, and a more even spacing in between each one.
